First year of storm chasing wasn't a horrible one, well, compared to how crappy of a season
everyone else had, except i didn't bag the 8-24 southern Minnesota tornadoes, work kept me from seeing my first tornado, but
oh well, one more reason to look forward to 2007. However i did get out 3 non-local times, clocking in with 1476 total chase
miles in those three trips with the longest coming in on Aug. 5th which consisted of over 700 miles. Caught one for sure wall
cloud near Fargo on Aug. 5th, with 2 other possible ones (one with the same storm near Fargo and another near Aberdeen). Will
be redoing some of the site to include some pics from this year on the main page and will add some other pictures too. A BIG
thanks to Rich Gudmenson for letting me tag along and i'm looking forward to next year!
Second year chasing was a little dissapointing. My hope before the season started was to get
out on atleast 5 chases during the summer, but mother nature didn't feeling like being that gracious to me. Granted there
were decent chase days, but with my luck i worked on most of those days. Everyone thought the season would be a good one with
such a good looking set up so early in the season on March 25, but little did I know it would be almost 5 months until my
next chase on August 11th. Luckily i was able to get out one last time just two days later on Aug. 13. Unfortunately the cap
won that one. Either way, I'm happy about the times i did get out, chasing by myself the first time was definately different,
and got my first successful lightning shots as well. No tornadoes, but like I have said before, just one more reason to look
forward to next year.
